Our Background |
In 1998 a number of airlines met to discuss the idea of having a forum or organization focused on Emergency Response. Whilst airlines are in competition with each other in the commercial world, such differences are placed aside when dealing with aircraft accidents and major incidents. As a result of the meeting this group of airlines set up the United Kingdom Airlines Emergency Planning Group.
The group has been
able to influence the work carried out by Government
bodies and other agencies in the area of emergency
response. The group is recognized amongst other
by:
- The
Cabinet Office Training Establishment, Easingwold.
UK
- Air
Accident Investigation Branch
- UK
Department for Transport
- Police
Training College Bramshill

Flight Safety Committee
- Flight
Safety Foundation
- European
Regional Airlines
- Airport
Operators Association
- UK
Emergency Planning Society
- US

Above all, airlines
realise their responsibilities towards passengers
in the event of an accident or incident and the
UKAEPG provides a forum whereby all can have access
to information about best practice in this area.
